Where Do the Stars Go on Holiday?

Where Do the Stars Go on Holiday?
months. However, there are some stars that simply travel to be with family and friends over the holiday. This year, Jessica Simpson reported that she planned to travel between Texas and Boston to spend time with her family and that of her fiance. Taylor Swift was planning an old fashioned Christmas at home in Nashville, surrounded by her family.

Some stars will want to spend the holidays in style by traveling abroad. Rachel Allen was heading to France, strictly for the cuisine! A popular destination for many stars is Dubai. Known to be one of the wealthiest locations in the world, Dubai is home to some of the most amazing hotels and resorts. While the holiday will be costly, stars actually book cheap flights to Dubai well in advance. This allows them to have the luxury of being able to spend their holiday in some of the ritziest hotels in the world. Claudia Schiffer often spends her holiday at the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai.

Stars who are newlyweds will often plan their holiday around a romantic getaway to Paris. This city is known to be one of the most romantic locations in the world, attracting many stars. It is also the home of some of the best international restaurants and boutiques, making Paris a well rounded destination for our idols.

Since the wintertime can bring about the blues, it is common for the stars to depart to a tropical location, usually in the Caribbean. St. Thomas, Antigua, Barbados and St. John are popular destinations. Here, stars will be able to relax on the soft sandy beaches and get in some rays. Holidays in the Caribbean are popular among many people, not just the stars, so if you are traveling to the islands for the holidays, your chances of spotting a special someone are pretty high.

Italy is another destination of choice for many stars, especially internationally known chefs. This country is loaded with small villages that are rich in culture and cuisine, making them the perfect remote destination. In addition to the great food and wine, there are many fine resorts throughout Italy.

While we may all believe that the stars always spend their holidays in some luxurious hotel or in a five star resort, most of them actually prefer to remain at home with their family and friends. They may travel to their home town to reunite with relatives, or simply stay in their own homes with immediate family. Not every star or celebrity will live the golden life during the holiday season. The holidays are a time to spend with loved ones, so you will find that many stars will not book an expensive hotel in Dubai or travel around the world. They will remain in the comfort of their own homes and enjoy the festive season.

Jennifer Aniston vs. Perez Hilton!

Jennifer Aniston vs. Perez Hilton!

As much as I do occasionally make fun of her, I really do like Jennifer Aniston. Her movies aren"t great, sure, but she"s a good girl. That being said, the fact that she ran into Perez Hilton and gave him, at best, a stern talking to for basically just being a shitty gossip blogger? Dammit to hell, Aniston. Dammit straight to hell. "I ran into Perez Hilton in a garage. One of those moments you just never expect to happen. I had finished dinner with a girlfriend and we were driving out and I saw this tall, long, lean person and I say, "Who is that?" And she says, "I think that"s Perez Hilton." I said, "No. I have to say something to him. I have to." So I pulled up and we were sort of scoping each other out as I was pulling the car up. I just rolled down the window and I was like, "Hi." And he went, "Hi." We stood there like two deer in headlights. And I just said, "Come here. Just talk to me for a second." It was one of those great moments. It was a lovely meeting and I was just like, "Why are you so mean?" SOURCE That"s it? "Why are you so mean?" For God"s sake, woman, this is the asshole who not only makes fun of celebrities despite being one himself, but he makes the rest of us gossip bloggers look bad! He even managed to ruin Rihanna"s S&M music video for me, that chubby fuck. THROW SOMETHING AT HIM! Just not anything that plugs into a wall, okay? Those things can do some permanent damage.

Various media outlets are reporting that the model and mother of one was found unconscious in a wooded area after a failed suicide attempt. I hope that for her sake, the sake of her child and the people who love her that she gets the help she so desperately needs.

Britney's new song is actually 31-years-old. whaaaaa?

Britney's new song is actually 31-years-old. whaaaaa?

With Britney Spears having officially moved into the "Pun-Based Singles" part of her career (See: If You Seek Amy), it"s time for people to start claiming she ripped her off. Case in point: The Bellamy Brothers are claiming that Britney ripped off the title of their hit song, If I Said You Have A Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me? This is why I drink. He hasn"t heard from anyone in Spears" camp (a rep for the singer declined to comment), and he"s not making a decision about whether to take legal action until he learns more about the laws involved. "I just have to see what the intent was," he says. "I just kind of found it unoriginal, and I guess it makes us realize how old we are, because they"re recycling our titles already." SOURCE Mind you, when you consider that the joke is about as old, tired and sagging as Madonna"s vagina, it"s kind of hard to say that Britney ripped anyone off. That being said: If one more person writes a song based on a pick-up line, I will pee on the doors of the RCAA.

Wayne's New Year's Eve Mic Mishap

Wayne's New Year's Eve Mic Mishap
Lil Wayne"s New Year"s Eve (31Dec10) concert was marred by an audio mishap on Friday night - when the rapper"s microphone appeared to go out during a live broadcast.

The hip-hop star took the stage to rock the crowd at Manhattan"s 230 Fifth rooftop bar as part of NBC network"s New Year"s Eve with Carson Daly - as the TV host counted down the minutes to 2011 from New York.

However, the mishap didn"t stop the show - the duo ended the performance by encouraging their fans to put your hands up

Introduced by Nicki Minaj, who called Wayne "the undisputed best rapperalive," Wayne began lyrics to his track 6 Foot 7 Foot, and was joined by his newest protege, Cory Gunz - but their voices couldn"t be heard over the music beats and screaming fans.
Comment on this Article

However, the mishap didn"t stop the show - the duo ended the performance by encouraging their fans to "put your hands up" and Wayne later returned to the stage for a rendition of Right Above It, although the audio issue did not appear to be resolved.

Stellan Skarsgard

Stellan Skarsgard

Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgård"s international resume speaks volumes about his versatility-from cinephile faves like Breaking the Waves and Insomnia to glossier American fare like Good Will Hunting and Mamma Mia!. (Ronin might fall in both camps.) His latest film, a bleakly funny comedy entitled A Somewhat Gentle Man, opens in New York on January 14:

Ulrik (Skarsgard) is a somewhat gentle man, as far as gangsters go. Reluctantly back on the streets following a stint in prison, Ulrik"s boss greets him with open arms and a plan to settle an old score. With a demented sense of professional pride, Ulrik"s boss sets in motion a plan to right the wrong done to his star employee. The problem is Ulrik would rather go about his own business, however mundane, than get involved with his ragtag colleagues again. This dark feel good comedy delivers laughs and gasps in equal measure.

In late December, Skarsgård phoned me from Sweden to briefly chat about his third collaboration with director Hans Petter Moland (after Zero Kelvin and Aberdeen), David Fincher"s upcoming remake of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, cooking for his own family, and atheism.

John Cameron Mitchell

John Cameron Mitchell

[photo by Nigel Smith / indieWIRE]

For a filmmaker associated best with exploring gender and sexuality onscreen in such audacious, stylized films as Hedwig and the Angry Inch and Shortbus, John Cameron Mitchell seems an unlikely but inspired choice to helm David Lindsay-Abaire"s pared-down adaptation of his own Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, Rabbit Hole (opening in limited release on December 17, nationwide January 14):

RABBIT HOLE is a vivid, hopeful, honest and unexpectedly witty portrait of a family searching for what remains possible in the most impossible of all situations. Becca and Howie Corbett (Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart) are returning to their everyday existence in the wake of a shocking, sudden loss. Just eight months ago, they were a happy suburban family with everything they wanted. Now, they are caught in a maze of memory, longing, guilt, recrimination, sarcasm and tightly controlled rage from which they cannot escape. Becca hesitantly opens up to her opinionated, loving mother (Dianne Wiest) and secretly reaches out to the teenager involved in the accident that changed everything (Miles Teller); Howie lashes out and imagines solace with another woman (Sandra Oh). Yet, as off track as they are, the couple keeps trying to find their way back to a life that still holds the potential for beauty, laughter and happiness. The resulting journey is an intimate glimpse into two people learning to re-engage with each other and a world that has been tilted off its axis.

Calling from Los Angeles, Mitchell spoke with me about Rabbit Hole and why making the film was a personally cathartic experience, but our brief chat also touched on his love for comic books, why LGBT-themed indies are routinely mediocre, Hedwig on Broadway, and what he wants for Christmas this year. Miley Cyrus to sue website

Miley Cyrus to sue website
Teen popstar Miley Cyrus is suing a website which published a naked picture, claiming that the image is hers.

Soon after a raunchy faceless image of a woman claimed to be the "Party in the USA" hitmaker came out, people from her camp denied it and they are now "in touch with lawyers and considering action," reported People magazine online.

The blog, ZackTaylor.ca, published the image, shot in a bathroom with a phone, claiming that Cyrus had sent it to her ex-boyfriend Liam Hemsworth and they had obtained it after her iPhone was stolen.

The blogger claimed that the photo was taken in a sexting session during her brief stay at the Westin Palace hotel following the latest MTV Video Music Awards.

Cyrus" spokesperson added that the Hannah Montana star has a tattoo reading "Just Breathe" under her left breast, and the woman in question doesn"t have it and also she is skinnier than the former Disney star.

The woman in question has the same blonde wavy hairstyle as Cyrus and also sports her signature bracelets.

Judith Ripka "Oprah" Earrings

Judith Ripka
The car that she gave away may have drawn the most attention, but among the many things Oprah gave her audience in her two-part "Oprah"s Favorite Things" show were a pair of Judith Ripka earrings handpicked by the talk-show queen. The canary Eclipse Earrings retail for $525 and are appropriately now being referred to as the Judith Ripka "Oprah" Earrings. The yellow canary crystals are surround by white sapphires and sterling silver. $525 is an awesome price point for fine jewelery and you definitely will get a high-impact look no matter what you pair these with. I could see them going beautifully with a low cut or strapless black LBD or floor-length gown with hair pinned back. These are totally giving me the urge to dash to my closet and play dress up!

Oh, Mickey One, You're So Fine

Oh, Mickey One, You're So Fine

by Steve Dollar

Time has not worn dull the oddball charms, nor solved the existential riddles of Mickey One. Arthur Penn"s much-neglected 1965 film is long overdue for wide reappreciation, which will be a lot easier now that it"s out on DVD, presented in a digitized version of a fabulous restored print, one that lends seductive depth and richness to its black-and-white palette. The visual scheme is slyly well-suited to the surreal tilts and spontaneous freak-outs that punctuate the story, paced by saxophonist Stan Getz"s improvisations on an imaginative jazz score.

The film remains as curious as ever. Its opening scene establishes a phantasmagorical tone that it rarely departs for long, as a nightclub comic (played by budding heartthrob Warren Beatty, fresh from Lilith and acting his 28-year-old ass off) lights up a cigar in a sauna, sitting fully clothed in foppish finery as a laughing chorus of fat, old guys cackles at him. Must be the 1960s.

The Boob Job: Not Just for the Stars!

The Boob Job: Not Just for the Stars!
Cosmetic surgery has come a long way, baby. And although female celebrities may have - willingly or unwillingly - put the procedure and the… um… goods in the public eye, they no longer have the market cornered with many more safe, reasonably priced implant options and numerous well-trained surgeons out there. Sharon Stone, Paula Abdul, Tori Spelling, Pamela Anderson, and many others have gone under the knife, but you may be surprised how many of your friends, co-workers, and neighbors have too - even if they don't talk about it openly.

According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, over 300,000 women had breast enhancement surgery (which surpassed liposuction as the most common type of cosmetic surgery in 2008 with more than 350,000 women getting implants) in 2009 alone. So why do so many women choose to increase the size of their bust? Many celebrities do it to hold the public's interest and keep up a sexy image. Lots of women do it for similar reasons: to increase their self-esteem, to feel more sexy, to fill out their bra if they have different-sized breasts, to look better after pregnancy, to fight the effects of aging, or to move on with their lives after losing one or both breasts to cancer.

But what if you like the idea but aren't ready to let it all hang out in front of your doctor? If you find a consultation intimidating or if you feel uncomfortable talking about the possibility of giving your breasts a boost with your friends, then you probably should start by doing some research on your own. You can find good information about the risks and benefits of surgery and different types of implants on the Food and Drug Administration's website, and you can also find a certified surgeon online. Getting more information can help you overcome those consultation jitters and be prepared to give yourself a new look.

Jessica Alba in Joomi Lim Spike Bracelets

Jessica Alba in Joomi Lim Spike Bracelets

Spikes are definitely the new fringe - just when you think they"re going to fizzle out, they"re back to being everywhere! I"m liking Jessica Alba"s incorporation of the trend with her stacked Joomi Lim Spiked Bracelets. The brand is designed by a husband-and-wife team (so in awe of anyone that can live and work with the same person!), and balances the hard, biker edge of spikes with a streamlined design. While I"m not a fan of Alba"s dress, I do like the idea of pairing these stacked gunmetal pieces with an ethereal white dress.

If you"re a fan of this design, check-out Lim"s headbands. The brand is actually best known for their hair accessories (thank you Blaire Waldorf), and jewelery was just added recently. Spiked headbands are a bit over-kill for my taste, but would you wear them?

Edward Norton and Tim Blake Nelson

Edward Norton and Tim Blake Nelson

Newly released on DVD and Blu-ray this week is writer-director-actor Tim Blake Nelson"s Leaves of Grass, starring two-time Oscar nominee Edward Norton:

LEAVES OF GRASS is a comic thriller seen through the dual perspectives of identical twins, both played by Norton). Bill, a classical philosophy professor at Brown University, returns home upon news of his brother Brady"s murder in a drug deal gone awry. Bill quickly learns that Brady"s death has been grossly exaggerated, as he"s swept up into one of his brother"s crazy schemes. Alongside his eccentric mother (Susan Sarandon) and a beautiful woman named Janet (Keri Russell), Bill participates in his brother"s wild plan, leading him on a twisted path filled with unique characters and life"s most challenging questions. Also starring Richard Dreyfuss and writer-director Tim Blake Nelson, the film merges crime drama, drug comedy, and classical philosophy, as it attempts to answer one of the oldest questions in the world: What does it truly mean to be happy?

Last March in Austin, during the SXSW Film Festival, I sat down with Nelson and Norton to discuss the technical and performance logistics of single-handedly playing twins, smoking joints (and fake joints), Horatio"s "golden mean," and the reason nobody makes pot dramas.

DA Pennebaker, Chris Hegedus, Jacquy Pfeiffer

DA Pennebaker, Chris Hegedus, Jacquy Pfeiffer

by Steve Dollar

There are no tears in pastry, says Jacquy Pfeiffer, the cofounder of Chicago"s French Pastry School and star of Kings of Pastry. The new documentary, from the illustrious filmmaking team of DA Pennebaker and Chris Hegedus, follows the affable Frechman as he ventures into his own culinary war room: the fevered competition for the Meilleurs Ouvriers de France, which for the 16 chefs who make it into the finals each year might as well be the Nobel Prize in the art and science of patisserie.

Just as there"s no omelette without some broken eggs, the contest pushes each chef to the absolute limit. As the cameras follow Pfeiffer through the arduous process-bolstered by his exceedingly patient and devoted girlfriend, Rachel-the story becomes a confectionary cliffhanger, as marvelous and terrifyingly fragile sugar sculptures teeter in peril. Even the world"s greatest butter-and-egg men are humbled by the Olympian task of making the perfect creampuff.

I caught up with the husband-and-wife team of Pennebaker and Hegedus at their Upper West Side offices, where Pfeiffer joined them to discuss the joy (and horror) of cooking. All three have been onhand this week for the film"s premiere at New York"s Film Forum where, yes, dessert was served. WARNING: Minor Spoiler Alert!

Aamir Khan

Aamir Khan

If filmgoers on these shores don"t recognize actor-filmmaker Aamir Khan (producer and star of the Oscar-nominated Lagaan) as something akin to "the Tom Cruise of India," it"s because the Indian film industry is so prolific that it"s hard to keep up unless you"re a bona fide Bollywood nut. For first-time filmmaker Anusha Rizvi"s Peepli Live, Khan wears his producer"s hat to bring this bittersweet satire to theaters around the globe:

On the eve of national elections in the Indian village of Peepli, two poor farmers, Natha (Omkar Das Maikpuri) and Budhia (Rahubir Yadav), face losing their land over an unpaid government loan. Desperate, they seek help from an apathetic local politician, who suggests they commit suicide to benefit from a government program that aids the families of indebted deceased farmers. When a journalist overhears Budhia urge Natha to "do what needs to be done" for the sake of their families, a media frenzy ignites around whether or not Natha will commit suicide.

For a superstar entertainer who rolls with an entourage and bodyguards, Khan proved to be a rather engaged and humble man in our sit-down interview. We discussed the farmer suicide epidemic, the ridiculousness of real life versus satire, the stigma of an "A" rating, and why he hasn"t yet sought any Hollywood projects.

The Antonionian Ennui of Mad Men

The Antonionian Ennui of Mad Men

by Vadim Rizov

In 1962, Don Draper went to see La Notte and loved it. He"s up on his cinema, and that"s no surprise. When someone asked if he"d seen The Bridge on the River Kwai, he responded, "I"ve seen everything, and I have the ticket stubs to prove it." Not that Don could assimilate Antonioni into advertising that quickly. He"s much more likely to use Bye Bye Birdie as a starting point for his work; foreign innovations are, for now (the show"s up to 1964), just that. As Kieron Clark pointed out, "Advertising then did exactly as it does now: it co-opted, re-used and ripped-off cinematic culture, both high and low. As both Don Draper and Matthew Weiner know only too well, the Mad Men of Madison Avenue ignore the movies at their peril." Right now, Don"s viewing choices may not have much to do with his work. Soon, they may have to if he wants to survive the "60s gracefully.

Style-wise, the show"s oft-muted colors make the "60s seem more modern than a meticulous recreation: its influences are ahead of the chronological period, even as the characters fight to keep pace with the "60s. As James Wolcott notes, Don"s living in "Gordon Willis dark" rooms "without Godfather justification," a man out of time in a way that"s not fashionable yet. Maybe not quite The Godfather- although Draper brooding in the dark in the fourth season"s premiere episode isn"t far off either-but visually, Don"s ahead of the times, meanwhile struggling to keep up with them.

Keep up with the Ever-Changing Trends with Fashion Bags

Keep up with the Ever-Changing Trends with Fashion Bags
Every woman's dream is to keep up with the latest trends. The easiest way to make a style statement, while keeping one step ahead of your peers, is by accessorizing your wardrobe with fashion bags. However, original designer bags come with prohibitive price tags. The good news is that the internet today is overflowing with retailers who promise the best quality handbags at the most competitive rates. The only difficult part is choosing which retailer to buy from and what designs will suit us the best.

Tips for Buying Fashion Bags
Here are a few tips that will help you make the best choice while shopping for handbags:

Keep up with the seasonal trends:The world of fashion is ever changing. This means that the handbag designs also change as frequently. You can see this change by just observing what celebrities are carrying. While it was the time of small purses sometime ago, today most celebrities are seen sporting oversize bags.

Choose according to your needs:Handbags are more than just accessories. Most outfits for women do not come with enough pockets to store all that one needs to carry when one leaves the house. While a classy clutch bag has enough space when it comes to attending a formal event, nothing less than an oversized diaper bag will do while shopping with your baby. On the other hand, bags that are carried to the office need to have enough space for the essentials and to give a professional look but not be too large or flashy.

The perfect combination:Always go for a bag that provides you the perfect combination of the best appearance, style, color and taste. Do not choose a bag just because someone else has it.

Be aware that trends don't last long: Fashion trends change so rapidly that investing in expensive purses is often a waste of money. Look alike handbags are the best choice when it comes to keeping up with the latest trend without burning a hole in your pocket.

Price:While look alike bags are cheaper than the originals, be careful of prices that seem to low. One cannot achieve a high quality end product by cutting costs. A high quality inspired bags, that even a connoisseur will find difficult to distinguish from the real thing cannot come for $20.

The last, and possibly most important, factor to keep in mind is to shop only at trusted online stores. Ensure that you check the testimonials and client feedback before making your final decision. One of the most trusted names when it comes to cheap fashion bags of the highest quality is Baginc. For more information on their exhaustive inventory of handbags, visit www.baginc.com.
